DIY: 4-ingredient deodorant

Here's a recipe for an amazing natural deodorant that works better than anything you'll buy in a store. That's a bold statement, but my family and I have been using this recipe for 2 years now (that's 2 hot and sweaty Arizona summers!) and we remain delighted by its effectiveness and pleasant but curious side effect.

Combine these 4 ingredients into a long-lasting and effective deodorant.

First, blend the two powders. Next, stir in the oil. Plain coconut oil is fine, but I infuse mine with Calendula flowers for their skin-soothing, skin-nourishing effects.

Stir until a smooth batter sheets off your spatula, making sure to eliminate all lumps.

Pour your finished product into a container. It will continue to firm up for about a day, but as a natural product, will change with the seasons: firmer in the winter's cooler temperatures, looser in the summer.

4-Ingredient Deodorant: makes about a half-cup

1/4 cup arrowroot powder

1/4 cup baking soda

4 TBS calendula-infused organic coconut oil (or plain coconut oil)

In a mixing bowl, blend the two powders together. Add the oil and stir until a smooth batter forms. Store in air-tight container. A little goes a long way.
